Illustrated lettering Titled "Unordinary Childhood"
-"I had no ordinary childhood but nothing seemed unordinary at the time, with an unordinary childhood came chaos. Now i hate ordinary, straight is not straight, scribble scrabble"-
I’ve always been fascinated by beer and liquor packaging. Having a Mexican background, my first attempt in wanting to create something was for Tecate (a Mexican product). Their current campaign revolves around the “Be Bold” message. I wanted to create a special edition can; “THE BOLDEST” beer can in the market. I felt the brand mark need a bolder look for this project so I illustrated a new version of it while keeping its main features. I executed the design by hand illustrating all the graphics and combined both typography and custom lettering.

I was challenged to fully design the 2016 annual report for Allegiant Airlines. The company grew 18 percent through that year. I wanted to emphasize on the growth and give credit to the reasoning behind the profitable year. The design took on a typographic approach by extracting small snippets from the president’s letter and highlighting them in full-page layouts. I positioned the text over images of aerial shots that not only represent the “high” success rate but also the various experiences possible for the consumer. To tie the images to the brand, I gave them a blue and orange monotone color to reflect their logo. I also wanted the footer to be unique in its way rather having a traditional page number only, so I ran a rule above and below the page numbers across the entire page. I want to thank paragraph styles, table styles and tabs for making this project possible.

It all started with a sketch that I jotted down while sitting in a math class.
The toughest logo. To appeal to young athletes with over 7.5 million in high school alone. Package and logo reflect a tough feel through the neutral tones and Rockwell typeface. Lets not forget the illustrated rhino and hand lettering.

An eco friendly club created at the Art Institute. Club was in search of brand mark and image. Various ideas arose in this project.
